Cheryl Calderon is a native of the state of Illinois but grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a double major in Communications and Visual Arts and a professional minor in Art Education. Following graduation, she taught art at Menominee Indian High School and the Sacred Heart Seminary in Oneida, Wisconsin.
She returned to Illinois in 1982 and has taught adult classes in drawing, pastels and watercolor. After a career in Graphic Arts and Healthcare, Cheryl is now retired. She has studied under various local artists and attended TWSA workshops with such artists as Chen Kee Chee and Mel Stabin. She is currently a student at Positive Strokes Art School and Gallery where she recently had an exhibit in May and June.
“I love the process of creating. It is magic. I continue to evolve and grow. I credit my teachers and fellow students as my greatest inspiration.” Cheryl is a member of the Northwest Cultural Council and has made a recent television appearance on Muse Live which features local artists and musical talent. Her paintings can be found in many private collections.
