I create photographs because scenes and snippets of life beg to be photographed. I’m forced to shoot. My images aren’t made to make statements or influence opinions. Hopefully they evoke emotions, stimulate thought. Some create peace, others discomfort. I’m open-minded believing there’s something interesting everywhere. I portray that in photographs. Many are literal interpretation, but abstract compositions are not out of bounds. I’ve printed most of my B&W film images in darkrooms. Today, I’m into digital. It has unleashed new artistic freedoms. My darkroom is devoid of darkness, fumes, but still affords me creative options that help me document life.
